Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Rwanda to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, officially presented her Letters of Credence to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva during a formal ceremony held at the Palais des Nations. Bakuramutsa reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to multilateral cooperation. In her meeting with the UN official, Bakuramutsa conveyed warm greetings from President Paul Kagame and reaffirmed Rwanda’s strong commitment to the principles of the United Nations. She emphasized Rwanda’s active engagement in ongoing UN reforms and its dedication to multilateral cooperation as a means of advancing sustainable development, peace, and international security. The envoy also highlighted the country’s support for inclusive dialogue and mutual understanding as essential pillars of effective global governance. Ambassador Bakuramutsa brings to her new role substantial experience from senior positions in government, diplomacy, and other sectors. Her career has included serving as Rwanda’s Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. In the coming weeks, Bakuramutsa will also present her credentials to the President of the Swiss Confederation. Her diplomatic accreditation extends to Austria, the Vatican, Slovenia, Liechtenstein, and the United Nations Office at Vienn, where similar formalities will be completed.
