Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has confirmed the arrest of Moses Turahirwa, a fashion designer and founder of Moshions, over alleged drug use. RIB Spokesperson Thierry Murangira told The New Times on Tuesday, April 22, that Turahirwa was arrested over drug use, which was confirmed by tests taken at Rwanda Forensic Institute (RFI). Indeed, Turahirwa Moses was arrested and is being prosecuted for drug use, as shown by the test results from RFI, Murangira said in a written response, adding that investigations were ongoing. On April 27, 2023, he was arrested on allegations of drug abuse and forgery. Appearing before Nyarugenge Primary Court in May the same year, the fashionista admitted to having used cannabis. On July 15, 2023, Twahirwa was granted bail by the Nyarugenge Intermediate Court.
